Richard Copp is Build’s Principal Consultant and offers 40 years of meaningful and effective work experience to his clients. He is a dynamic leader and strong critical thinker who is as comfortable in the Boardroom as he is on the shop floor. He will engage and work with all levels of your business to effectively achieve and sustain business improvements.
Richard Copp, Principal Consultant
Richard has broad and deep experience across many industries including automotive, defense, HVAC, medical, commercial furniture, local government, and general construction. Within these industries Richard has worked in and managed most every business discipline including engineering (product, reliability, manufacturing), quality assurance, plant and operations management (from the shop floor to executive level), human resources, materials management/procurement, and general management.
Richard holds a Master’s in Business Administration and was elected to Beta Gamma Sigma, a business administration honorary society. As an undergraduate he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Knowledge is his foundation for effective implementation in the real-world business environment and he has rigorously studied in a wide range of areas including physics, mathematics, industrial statistics, lean manufacturing, and leadership.
Richard is an accomplished author having written numerous technical articles on quality improvement and industrial statistics. Most notably, Richard co-authored the book, Statistical Problem Solving: A Team Approach for Identifying and Resolving Problems with the late Dr. Hansraj Bajaria.
Richard is a guest lecturer at the University of Mississippi Center for Manufacturing Excellence and the School of Business Administration. Richard holds a certificate in Lean Manufacturing from the Mississippi State University Bagley College of Engineering. Richard is a licensed Residential Building Contractor in the State of Mississippi. Richard was formerly certified by the American Society of Quality as both a Quality Engineer and a Reliability Engineer.
